Optima HP choke tube systems are one of the most popular chokes for newer Beretta shotguns. HP stands for High Performance. Optima HP chokes can be found in just about every diameter. Most choke manufacturers offer Optima HP choke tubes for waterfowl and turkey hunting.
Optima HP chokes are available in two versions from Beretta, 18.40 and 18.60. The only shotgun currently using 18.40 is the 486 side by side shotgun. Optima HP is not interchangeable with Optima or Optima Plus chokes.

*Optima HP chokes are not interchangeable with Optima choke tubes. Shotguns that use Optima HP chokes will typically have “OB HP” stamped on the barrel after the gauge.
