This chart shows the popular Browning choke tube diameters for 20 gauge, 12 gauge, and 10 gauge shotguns. Common choke tube constrictions are listed for open bore to a more restrictive turkey choke.
Browning chokes are available in Invector, Invector Plus, and Invector DS. The thread designs for each of these chokes are different and can only be used in Browning shotguns that are marked for them. See this choke interchange list for more details.
Browning Choke Tube Chart

The chart above lists the diameters for the three Browning choke systems; Standard Invector, Invector Plus, and Invector DS. Cylinder is the least restrictive choke diameter for Browning shotguns. Full, Extra-full, and Turkey chokes are the tightest diameter Browning choke tubes with the most constriction. These types of chokes deliver tight patterns at long ranges with maximum pellet density.
Invector vs Invector Plus
Browning Invector and Invector Plus are the two most common types of Browning choke systems. They are not compatible with each other since they contain different thread types. Please see this guide on how to tell the difference between Invector and Invector Plus.
Browning 20 gauge Invector chokes have a smaller diameter compared to 12 gauge chokes due to a smaller barrel. Additionally, 10 gauge standard chokes have the largest diameters due to the increased barrel size.

Browning Invector DS
Invector DS is the newest Browning choke system that features longer tubes and a new thread style at the top end of the choke. They also feature a bronze retainer at the gap where the barrel meets the choke to prevent seizing up or fouling of threads.
Newer Browning pump shotguns, automatics, and break opens are fitted for Invector DS chokes from the factory. Invector DS chokes are available in all popular choke sizes and brands.

Browning Choke Tubes By Gauge
Invector, Invector Plus, and Invector DS choke systems are not available for every shotgun that Browning makes. Below is a list by gauge that shows which chokes were produced by Browning.
- 10 Gauge – Standard Invector
- 12 Gauge – Standard Invector, Invector Plus, Invector DS
- 16 gauge – Standard Invector, Invector DS
- 20 gauge – Standard Invector, Invector Plus, Invector DS
- 28 Gauge – Standard Invector
- .410 Bore – Standard Invector
Standard Invector choke tubes are made by Browning for every size gauge of shotgun. It is the most widely used Browning choke system. Invector Plus chokes are only available for 12 gauge and 20 gauge Browning shotguns.
Invector DS choke tubes were only installed on certain Browning 12 gauge, 16 gauge, and 20 gauge shotguns. 10 gauge, 28 gauge, and .410 bore Browning shotguns are only compatible with standard Invector chokes.
