You may have heard that Benelli makes Stoeger shotguns, but it’s not always clear if the choke tubes are interchangeable between the two brands. In this guide we’ll take a look at the different shotguns both Benelli and Stoeger offer and if you can swap the chokes between them.
Benelli and Stoeger choke tubes are interchangeable as long as they are made for the Mobil choke tube system. Mobil chokes can be installed on all shotguns equipped with Mobil compatible threads, which most Benelli and Stoeger shotguns use.

Are Stoeger and Benelli chokes the same?
Benelli and Stoeger chokes are interchangeable with the Benelli Mobil choke system. This means the Stoeger m2000, m3000, and m3500 shotgun chokes will fit Benelli shotguns that use the Mobil choke system, including: Benelli Super Black Eagle I, Nova & Super Nova, Legacy, M1, M3, and M4.
Additionally, both Benelli and Stoeger Mobil chokes are compatible with the following Beretta shotguns: Beretta 301, 302, 303, 390, older 391, A300 Outlander, 680 field, 682, S687L, older 686 Silver Pigeons, and 687 field.
Stoeger choke tubes will not fit all Benelli shotguns since Benelli uses three different choke systems. The Benelli Crio Sport and Benelli Crio Plus chokes will not fit Stoeger shotguns.
SUMMARY
As long as you have Mobil chokes, they will interchange between some Benelli and Stoeger shotguns.
What choke system is in a Benelli?
Benelli shotguns use three different choke tube systems depending on the model of shotgun. They include Benelli Mobil, Benelli Crio Sport and Benelli Crio Plus. Only the Benelli Mobil choke systems are compatible with Stoeger shotguns.
Even though Benelli USA manufactures Stoeger shotguns, don’t assume the choke tubes are interchangeable. The word “Mobil” or “MCS” will be written on the side of the choke tube to distinguish that it is compatible between the two brands.

What choke tube does Stoeger use?
Stoeger uses the Mobil choke tube system in both it’s 12 gauge and 20 gauge shotguns. The Stoeger m2000, m3000, and m3500 all use Mobil choke tubes.
Since Stoeger shotguns only work with Mobil choke tubes, they will always be compatible with certain models of Benelli shotguns such as the Super Black Eagle and Nova’s.

Does Stoeger work better than Benelli choke tubes?
The short answer is no. These two shotguns use the same Mobil choke and thus other factors such as ammo and shotgun will have more effect on patterns and efficiency while hunting.
Stoeger’s newest waterfowl shotgun is the M3500. It’s an inertia driven semi-automatic capable of cycling 2 ¾ inch shells all the way up to 3 ½ inch. The M3500 comes in 4 different models, Regular, Snow Goose, Waterfowl, and Predator/Turkey.
For recommendations on choke tubes for the Stoeger M3500, check out the guide here. With the right setup, it can provide dense patterns at some impressive ranges for waterfowl.
Bottom Line
A constant question that always arises is if Stoeger and Benelli chokes are the same? Both brands use Mobil choke tubes and all Stoeger shotguns are compatible with Benelli shotguns that use Mobil.
Stoeger isn’t compatible with Benelli Crio Sport or Benelli Crio Plus choke tubes, so make sure your Benelli uses chokes marked “Mobil”. Many of Berettas shotguns that use Mobil chokes are also compatible with certain Stoeger and Benelli shotguns.
